Modernised Bungalow with Feature Glass 'Link' and Artists Workshop/Studio Space

The aim was to create a design that would transform a dated bungalow in to a modern home for a   creative couple, while also specifically meeting their live/work requirements. As artists they both needed a separate well-lit workspace as well as comfortable living accommodation. The property is located in the Shropshire Hills, or the ‘Stretton’s’ which is an area of outstanding natural beauty.

Planning permission was achieved to bring the property up to date while adding a glass ‘link’ which connected the house to a new workshop/studio space. The link opens up the interior to the garden, a new courtyard garden and the stunning surrounding environment, capturing wonderful views of the hills.

The once deteriorating detached garage has been converted in to a studio which is now attached to the main building via the glass link, wrapped around the courtyard garden. The living accommodation was reconfigured and updated to provide a modern, spacious, light home.
