Completed Discharge and Transport Suite offers a new dynamic space for patients & staff

Completed last week was one of the first phases in a multi-million pound scheme to regenerate the internal spaces of the Royal Free Hospital, Hampstead, London.

As part of a huge redevelopment of the Royal Free Hospital, Johnson Design were appointed to create designs and project manage a brand new Discharge Lounge & Transport Suite intended to facilitate the flow of patients out of the hospital.

Key focusses aimed at improving patient experience and enriching the stereotypically mundane and dull clinical environment which is usually prevalent in older Hospitals. The design aimed to create a interesting and energising surrounding where patients could wait with more stimulation than the average waiting area. Completed on budget and on time the user’s of the facility have already begun to have their say…

“I like the new design it offers a larger patient space than we are used to, it flows well and it is a dynamic design providing a great environment for patients and staff” – Dave Reavy Logistics Manager The Royal Free Hospital Hampstead
