What Environmental Factors Affect the Workplace?
Lighting, noise, and temperature are by far the most important factors to regulate in an office building’s design. Natural light improves well-being and mood, loud and distracting sounds disrupt focus, and uncomfortable temperatures cause discomfort.
A skilled office building architect must design workspaces to manage and minimise these factors, including another overlooked aspect: aesthetics. Drab, unappealing designs make the monotony of work that much more monotonous. Innovative and unique design makes all the difference.
An Exterior Remodel to Remember
Anyone familiar with the clear tech products of the 90s knows how appealing it is to see the “inner workings” of things, whilst it is securely contained. This was the principle behind the exterior remodel design we proposed, a slatted glass shell that encapsulated the main office building.
This construction certainly has its own distinct personality, enabling the building to be seen in X-ray quality whilst keeping it light, open, insulating from extreme temperatures, and reducing noise from the road. The glass and steel shell also provides an extra security feature, keeping potential trespassers from the built-in car park below.
Our commerical architect firm thoroughly embraced the challenge, and we are ready to help you with yours. Whether you require an experienced office building architect for a feasibility study, extension, exterior remodel, or full refurbishment, Johnson Design Partnership are only a call or email away.
