Work Begins on £1.9m Library Transformation at Telford College

We’re delighted to announce that work is now underway on a £1.9 million redevelopment project at Telford College’s Wellington campus, where Johnson Design Partnership has been appointed as lead architects.

This exciting scheme will see the creation of a two-storey library and learning hub, designed to provide students with a vibrant, flexible space for study, collaboration, and digital learning.

A Modern Learning Environment

The redevelopment will transform the existing campus library into a bright, welcoming and technology-enabled learning centre, featuring:

  • Over 150 individual and group study spaces

  • Bookable teaching and seminar rooms

  • A new IT suite and digital resource area

  • Flexible spaces for workshops, meetings, and collaborative learning

The building has been carefully designed to enhance student wellbeing, maximise natural light, and promote sustainable, energy-efficient design principles — a hallmark of Johnson Design Partnership’s architectural approach.
