''Johnson Design Partnership designed and managed the construction of a glass-roofed extension to a listed 18th century cottage in the heart of a conservation area. JDP designed a practical but also very good-looking contemporary extension which was sensitive to the existing structure and its location. The needs of the owner (an old, partially disabled lady) were addressed with great care and attention, down to the smallest detail. The result is completely satisfactory and has added greatly to the value and character of the building, and also to the quality of life of the owner. We are now the proud owners of a pavilion which is the envy of clubs throughout Shropshire. This has been achieved despite the often conflicting interests and needs of our members, parish council, landlord (The National Trust), the ECB (our principle funder), county council and our adjoining conservation area status. To have produced a design keeping all of these interests happy is remarkable.
