Flexible educational envirnment

When creating plans for the school we looked to produce individual designs not working from a standard blueprint. Rural schools must sit happily within the context of the surrounding environment.

We also sought to adhere to the local education authorities design philosophy which is to build schools which allow for variety and flexibility in teaching methods.

 

Four bright yellow ‘drums’ protrude from the walls, mimicking the cylindrical grain silos that rise out of the flat farmland beyond. Internally circulation space has been kept too a minimum and adaptable spaces have been created.
