Matt Spinks – Project Director/Senior Architect:
Matthew has been responsible for many design successes, including specialist education sector schemes at Northampton, Kensington and Norwich, with a holistic design approach to sustainability from the outset. He is involved in client consultations from inception, through to the contract administration of the final scheme to ensure timely decision making, high quality design and adherence to budget, in accordance with managing the project programme.
Matthew has been the lead on numerous high profile medium to large sized projects. His experience to date has involved him from inception through to handover with all aspects of project procurement.
Roger Booth – Senior Team Member/Contract Administrator:
Roger joined Johnson Design to lead our London office. A Project Manager by profession, Roger has wide experience in delivering major projects. In his former capacity as a Partner at William Martin, Roger worked for clients such as University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust; Homerton University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust. Prior to private practice, Roger spent ten years working in the NHS at The Royal London and St Thomas’ Hospitals. Project experience includes the refurbishment alteration and conversion of wards and clinical departments, and the installation of specialist equipment.
Roger is a Chartered Building Surveyor, with 35 years’ experience, who has specialised in the housing sector for the past 20 years, Roger has a broad range of experience, having dealt with the refurbishment of Victorian street properties and listed blocks, through the repair and refurbishment of inter-war blocks to the refurbishment of post war housing.
Richard Coutts – Senior Architect:
Richard joined Johnson Design in June 2016. He has brought with him a wealth of experience, having worked on large scale projects in London and the Midlands over the last 10 years since completing his Part 3 qualification. Whilst his projects range across a variety of sectors including the Conservation of a number of historic buildings he has more recently specialised in Residential developments and Masterplanning. Richard is a pro-active, enthusiastic team member who is excited to be working on an array of design led projects with Johnson Design.
Michael Daw – Architectural Assistant:
Michael joined the practice in June 2016 from his University studies, which means he is keen to provide new fresh ideas to projects. He has a keen interest in the residential sector, and has been working on bespoke designs for clients.
Munir Shaikh – Senior Architectural Assistant:
Munir joined the team in the summer of 2015. He graduated with a First Class honours degree in Architectural Design Technology. On graduating he received an award for Best Technical Detailing for a major project at the University of Wolverhampton as well as a CIAT Outstanding Student award. Munir has been responsible for delivering a range of projects including residential and commercial buildings. He has significant knowledge of technical standards of detailing born out by his success on a number of projects. He has a wealth of experience in producing complex and detailed working drawings for clients, advising on legal requirements and liaising with the local authorities.
Adam Reed – Architectural Technician:
Adam is a proactive and diligent technician and joined the JDP team in November 2016. He has 7 years experience in all sectors but predominantly on residential projects. While working full time Adam gained the following qualifications, BTEC National Diploma Level 3 in Construction and a Foundation Degree in Construction/Architectural Design. Since qualifying Adam has worked as a freelancer and is confident at running projects particularly through the Planning and Building Control stages and can work to strict deadlines.
Kim Chesters – Practice Manager:
Kim joined us in March 2015 and has significantly enhanced the office’s operational procedures; including monitoring and managing the office QA (ISO 9001) protocols and ensuring industry standards are met. She has a Masters degree in Museum and Gallery Studies and her experience working as an Exhibitions Co-ordinator means she can utilise her organisational skills to assist our Architect’s with design and construction project management. Previous experience in Customer Services also means she can offer support to clients through the design and build process. Kim is also responsible for the continuous marketing of the company via the website, advertising and social media.
