An exciting new structure that will connect onto and incorporate the refurbishment of a redundant agricultural storage shed. The new block will be transformed into a new engineering block to feature two new classroom areas.

The structure is an exoskeleton meaning the main structural members are on the outside skin of the building allowing high levels of insulation thus reducing the required energy levels for the building. The structure also allows large glazed panels to maximise natural light in the building and again to decrease the overall energy requirements of the design.

The Rationale underpinning this project approach emerged from a desire to create an appropriate, subservient and sustainable design in a way that enhances the intrinsic contribution to the local context and existing college campus.
