GRAND DESIGN MAKEOVER FOR BRIDGNORTH TOWNHOUSE

A company of Bridgnorth architects are to give a Bridgnorth townhouse the ‘Grand Designs’ treatment with a makeover that will transform the property.

Johnson Design Partnership have been called in to devise a spectacular look for the house on the town’s Riverside, complete with an internal mezzanine, glass balustrading and a designer garden.

“The owners of this property are very design-aware and informed about contemporary architecture,” says JDP managing director Vic Johnson.

“The existing house, which is in typically late 80s style, is tall, narrow and very dark, and our clients wanted to create a light and airy space within their home.

“We’re achieving this by opening up the main living area, creating an internal mezzanine and reducing one of the floor plans, then inserting glass balustrading and a designer kitchen into the resultant two-storey space.

“The overall effect of this will undoubtedly be one of a signature architectural space complete with designer lighting.

“There will be cladding staircases with negative handrails that recess into walls and a designer garden flowing out from the kitchen and garden room area.

“And – best of all for us – the property will have eco-friendly services and controls throughout.

“Johnson Design Partnership specialises in creating innovative ‘Grand Design’ features within existing properties and always advocates the consideration of a ‘green’ approach wherever possible – it looks great, helps us preserve our planet and can save a lot on fuel bills!”

Planning consent for the Riverside house project has been granted and work will begin in the new year.
