It is rare for £50 million projects to blend into their surroundings, so perhaps the success of this design on the Norfolk coast was that residents were as much in awe as the town planners. On an astronomical scale, this Lottery project brought the future into the 21st Century. Its self-sufficiency in both design and operation marked it out as a true phenomenon.
