Vic's trip to fly the eco flag
Wednesday, 27 June 2007
Local Architect Vic Johnson of Johnson Design has recently returned from a trip to Hong Kong sponsored by the British Government.

Local Architect Vic Johnson of Johnson Design has recently returned from a trip to Hong Kong sponsored by the British Government. The aim of the trade mission was to meet companies in Hong Kong and on the neighbouring island of Macao and discuss potential eco-architecture projects in China.

“British architects have an enviable position worldwide for outstanding design and leadership in the field of eco-architecture in particular,” Vic Johnson commented. “Johnson Design Partnership has a track record in such projects and has completed the first school in Britain to achieve an excellent BREEAM/Eco Rating.”

Vic said that potential clients in Hong Kong have an increasing interest in low energy approaches, principally to high rise building, and often lead the way in items of best practice on the Chinese mainland.

Securing projects in Hong Kong and the neighbouring Pearl River Delta could pave the way for further projects in the mainland itself.

On Macao Vic met with representatives from a multinational Chinese company, members of which have already been to Bridgnorth offices of Johnson Design. Vic says he has his fingers firmly crossed!
